  • 1 cup cooked sausage or ham, diced For a lighter version, use chicken sausage or turkey ham.

Seasonings

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Adjust based on the saltiness of the sausage.
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • In a greased baking dish, layer the torn croissants, followed by the diced sausage or ham, and sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top.
  • Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croissant and sausage layers.
  • Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.

Baking

  • In the morning, remove the wrap and bake for 30-35 minutes or until the casserole is set and golden on top.
  • Serve warm with gravy drizzled on top.

Notes

Make extra the first time and freeze portions for single breakfasts. Leftovers can be chopped and added to breakfast scrambles or burritos. For lighter options, consider using fresh herbs and lower-fat milk.
