Ingredients
  

For the salmon

  • 4 fillets salmon fillets Skin-side down on the baking sheet.
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice Plus additional for the fresh lime sauce.
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For the marinade.
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black pepper

For the fresh lime sauce

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro Can be swapped with parsley.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  • Arrange salmon fillets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  • In a bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons of honey, 3 tablespoons of fresh lime juice, lime zest, melted butter, minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  • Brush the garlic butter marinade evenly over the salmon fillets.

Cooking

  • Bake the salmon for 12 to 15 minutes until it is opaque in the center and flakes easily.
  • Meanwhile, whisk together 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 tablespoon of honey, 2 tablespoons of fresh lime juice, minced garlic, chopped cilantro, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl to make the fresh lime sauce.
  • Remove the salmon from the oven and spoon any pan juices over each fillet.
  • Drizzle the fresh lime sauce over the baked salmon before serving.

Notes

Pat the salmon dry before marinating for better glaze adherence. Do not overbake; check for doneness at 12 minutes. Use fresh lime juice for optimal flavor. Store leftover salmon in an airtight container for up to 2 days, reheat gently.
