Main Ingredients

  • 2 packs packs of refrigerated cinnamon rolls Store-brand works well.
  • 4 cups peeled and sliced apples Use sweet-tart varieties like Gala or Honeycrisp.
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese Can use vegan cream cheese.
  • 1 cup whipped cream or Cool Whip Can be dairy-free.
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts Optional.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, combine sliced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  • Mix cream cheese with the vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Spread a layer of cinnamon rolls at the bottom of a greased baking dish.
  • Add half of the spiced apple mixture on top of the cinnamon rolls.
  • Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the apple layer.
  • Layer with remaining ingredients.

Baking

  • Bake for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
  • Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Keep leftovers covered in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat gently in the oven or microwave. For best flavor, let apple mixture sit before assembling to drain excess juice. Add nuts in the last 10 minutes of baking for crunch.
